Michelle and Darren are such a perfect match! Their wedding was a unique blend of their Filipine and Chinese cultures, and elements from each were throughout the day which made it a wonderful wedding to photograph.

Ai and Phil tie the knot!

I have a ton of amazing images to share from Ai and Phil's wedding yesterday, but they will have to wait until later in the week because I am just heading out to the States for a workshop with Joe Buissink! For those of you who don't know who he is, he's a very well-known celebrity wedding photographer (he photographed the weddings of Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Swank, Christina Aguilera, etc...) I've heard incredible things about his workshops and CAN'T WAIT to be inspired :)

Lara & Alyssa

Generally 'destination' weddings have fewer guests in attendance since it can be difficult for many friends and family to travel for a wedding. I was amazed by how many people travelled to Lara and Alyssa's wedding. From Bellingham to Australia, every single one of Lara & Alyssa's 60 or so guests were from out of town. Lara & Alyssa themselves are from New York. But it didn't surprise me, they seem to be just the type of people that everyone would want to be friends with. You could just see the love between these two..

Maggie & Matthew

I knew yesterday would be a great wedding to photograph after our very fun engagement session at Playland this summer.

Since the rain didn't want to stop, we wound up changing locations for the wedding party formals but it worked out really well and we managed to get a ton of fantastic images. The poor girls were freezing in their dresses but they were great sports and agreed to all my crazy ideas!


Matthew had to correctly answer a series of questions about Maggie before he was allowed to enter the house for the tea ceremonies.

Chantelle & Matthew - UBC Boathouse

I had such a great time photographing Chantelle and Matt at their engagement session last spring that I was really looking forward to seeing and photographing them both again at the wedding. As expected, it was a wonderful day!

Chantelle chose the most incredible colours for their wedding - eggplant purple and limey avocado. I think this has to be my new favourite colour combination because I just loved them and the whole wedding party looked stunning in it.

Kate & Kenny - Kirkland House

What a beautiful day we had yesterday, a perfect day to get married! Kate & Kenny had a very unique and personalized ceremony. As Kate walked down the aisle she was serenaded by a beautiful song Kenny sung to her while playing the guitar. They also wrote their own vows!

This was also one of the most punctional weddings I have been to this summer - they hardly strayed from their timeline, and even when they did it soon managed to get itself back on schedule!




There were even goldfish in vases by the alter!

Tara & Sebastian - Brew Creek Lodge

Tara and Sebastian's wedding was located in a beautiful setting 15 minutes outside of Whistler where they had an entire weekend full of fun activities planned for their guests. I loved that they are such a down to earth and fun couple! They are also so close to their families, and had such meaningful speeches that it hardly left anyone with a dry eye. Thanks guys, it was great to take part in your day!





I was amazed by how well behaved these kids were all day..








The evening ended with a ton of dancing!!

Zosia & Matt - Green College

We really lucked out with the weather yesterday. Just as we were leaving the church after a beautiful ceremony it started to completely pour, but it stopped just in time for us to arrive at the beach and we had the most incredible light for their formals and the rest of the afternoon. I had a great time photographing them, their families, and wedding party - and it was clear that the rest of the guests enjoyed themselves too!

Mike and Maria are such a sweet, wonderful couple, I really enjoyed spending the day with them. I also had a ton of fun wandering the park with them and their wedding party while taking their photos before the ceremony!

Maria did all her own beading on her dress, which looked fabulous!








Some great games were played - this one involved a blind-folded Maria who had to feel the men's bottoms until she found Mike! Mike was called a 'maybe' a few times before she found him!

I enjoyed photographing Lisa and Chris's wedding yesterday. They're such great people and both have a great sense of humour to boot. Lisa and Chris had chosen to take their photos together and with the wedding party before the ceremony so they could spend more time with their guests at the reception, and it wound up working so well because, although the ceremony had to be moved indoors, we managed to get all our photos of them taken before it started to rain!



I think Lisa and Chris were probably THE best dippers I've ever seen!!

Annalee and Noel are such a sweet and kind couple, I really enjoyed spending the day with them yesterday! They had a beautiful ceremony at the Cathedral downtown, and from there we took off to the streets of Vancouver to capture the urban feel they were looking for in their photographs.


There were also a ton of adorable children present throughout the day who were fun to photograph too..

Lela & Shane

Lela and Shane are such a great, down-to-earth couple (not to mention a great-looking couple!). I had a fantastic time with them and their families throughout the day. And what an incredible day! - From arriving at their field ceremony in a caravan of antique cars, to visiting a stable, to a gorgeous reception at Lela's parent's house, we did it all!
